Western Iowa Radon Services, Inc. is a family owned and operated radon measurement and mitigation specialist based in Glidden, IA. What is radon? Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. It is a radioactive gas created through normal decay of uranium deposits in the soil. Radon is an odorless, tasteless, invisible and dangerous gas that seeps up through the ground and into homes, businesses, schools, churches and other buildings or establishments.
Radon Mitigation Services
New construction - upon construction, a passive radon system can be installed, this consists of a PVC pipe that runs from your drainage system under the basement floor up through the house, to the attice and out of the roof.
Existing homes and buildings - in most cases, a sub-slab depressurization systems with vent pipes and fans are used to reduce radon. These systems do not require major changes in your home. It is also recommended to test for radon before purchasing homes.
